Tried To Make The Best of A Bad Situation
This event was a HUGE letdown for me, a real disappointment. I initially bought the tickets thinking I'd get to see BellBivDeVoe and EnVogue, even adding the event to my calendar in March. However, when I went to print the tickets the day before, I realized my mistake - it was actually a three-day affair, and the second day featured the acts I REALLY wanted to see (my wife and I included): BBD, EnVogue, SWV, Guy, and more. Oh no, how did this mix-up occur?
I've already spent a good amount on these tickets for the wrong show, so there's no turning back. I hoped to salvage the situation and enjoy the Il Divo/Ro James/Digable Planets performance. But unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse.
Ro James was the only one who performed as planned. Il Divo showed up three hours late, and Digable Planets didn't show at all - a major disappointment. The venue tried to fill the gap with other artists and the DJ, but three hours is a long time to dwell on the absence of the artists you came to see. By the time Il Divo arrived, my wife and I, along with many other disappointed attendees, had already left.
This unprofessional behavior from the venue, Il Divo, and Digable Planets left a sour taste in my mouth. It was my first time seeing Il Divo (or Digable Planets) live, and based on this experience, I won't be paying to see them again. As Chris Rock aptly put it, being punctual is crucial when you're paid to be somewhere at a specific time - there's no excuse for tardiness.
